Hime Lolita

From Lolibrary Wiki

Hime Lolita Style is a combination of Lolita Fashion and Hime Gyaru Fashion, which takes elements from both styles. This should not be confused with the Hime Lolita substyle, which is more focused on Lolita with princess elements.

Styling

Hime Lolita often uses elements like Hime Gyaru hair styles which often involve curls and high volume at the top of the head similar to the Bumpits craze in the US that started in 2008.[1] Small tiaras, oversized puffy hair bows, and roses are also common hair accessories. Cheaper lace, and satin fabrics are sometimes seen in accessories that are brought across from Hime Gyaru, as well as an emphasis on rhinestones. The predominant color is often light pink, with deeper pinks and whites as accent colors. Florals, roses, and leopard prints are common motifs. Barbie-like shoes with large bows or Malibu feather trim are not uncommon.

Gal-Loli

The greater crossover between Gyaru and Lolita was called Gal-Loli (short for Gal+Lolita ) by Style Arena in 2010[2], though this name is rarely used in English-Speaking circles. Style Arena noted that Lolita often seems cosplay-like to Gyaru which would have prevented this crossover prior to this, and some of this new crossover comes from cosplayers cosplaying as Gyaru characters, as well as people overseas and lolita adopting Gyaru elements. Hime Lolita Substyle

Due to sharing the same name, and overlapping thematic elements, there has been some degree of bleed over between Hime (princess) Lolita and the Hime Gyaru + Lolita over the years.
