Lady Sloth is an indie lolita brand based out of Poland, led by a mother-daughter duo alongside graphic designer Antygea and co-designer Keczup. ^[1]

Concept

Lady Sloth as a brand state that they aim to "make Lolita more accessible" to a wider range of people through a variety of sizing options and levels of formality/practicality in their designs. Releases have historically come in a range of 5 sizes ^[2], with custom sizing offered for an additional charge. More recent releases have begun to offer an additional 3 size options, adding XS, 3XL and 4XL to the existing sizes. Most Lady Sloth JSKs, OPs and Skirts do feature deep hidden pockets and will mention as such on the store's item listings. Many releases are also available in both standard and casual cuts.

History

Lady Sloth was established in 2012, stemming from a pocketwatch-printed black JSK release that would garner their brand attention within the local and online lolita communities. While there is no official statement on the origin of the brand name, they do assert that "every one of us can be a beautiful Lolita…even the sloth!" ^[1] Lady Sloth began initially based out of a Storenvy and Facebook page before migrating to a standalone webshop in March of 2019. ^[3]

"One Christmas my mother gave me a dress, sewn by her from the fabric she had found in a small local shop. And that’s how the first Clock dress was made. The dress got so many compliments from my friends that we decided to make more Clock dresses and started selling them. The positive response from our customers surpassed our wildest expectations. Therefore, one could say, Lady Sloth is a business that started from one dress."^[2]
