Le Panier Magazine

From Lolibrary Wiki

Le Panier was a lolita magazine launched in 2018. Le Panier was published simultaneously in Japanese (sold via Amazon Japan, in bookstores and at lolita events) and in Chinese (via their website).[1][2][3] A second issue was published in May of 2018. [2] Le Panier also sold items from Juliette et Justine, Millefleurs, Sheglit and Royal Princess Alice via their online shop.[4]

Controversy

Le Panier sold MTO lolita items from several brands as part of their Le Panier Teap Part in Shanghai event on July 28, 2018.[5] After the Victorian Maiden items shipped, some Chinese lolita were upset by the workmanship and that the cream fabric in the OP was white in the delivered products.[6] On August 1st, 2018, Victorian Maiden issued an apology stating that:

"At the time of participating in this event, our company was involved in providing and supervising the design to the Le Panier side, and the manufacturing and sales were left to the Le Panier side. The "Classical Doll Long Dress" sold this time is not a counterfeit product, but it differs from the regular product." They went on to explain that because of this there were differences between the two products and those differences weren't properly disclosed to the buyers by Le Panier.[6] Victorian Maiden went on to release another statement on August 9th, 2018 stating that "Some of the images used in the announcement and in the booklet distributed at the venue were used by Le Panier without our permission." They also went on to say that they would re-manufacturer the Classical Doll Long Dress and distribute it to the customers who had ordered.[6]

On July 11th, 2019, Mary Magdalene announced that the production of their MTO items which had been ordered a year before had fallen through due to "circumstances at the sewing plant". They went on to explain that they were unsure if the items would ever be made, so they would refund everyone plus a small gift and review their production plans again to make sure this didn't happen again.[7]
