Blue Period was an English-language website and accompanying forum/message board for the lolita fashion community in the early 2000s.

History

Blue Period launched around 2002, as a subpage of the personal website of UK-based LiveJournal user serpentbearer, aka Becky[1]. Blue Period would become popular in the community and linked often on EGL for its full scans of volumes of the Gothic & Lolita Bible and other resources for lolitas outside of Japan. Becky would modify the website in November 2003 to replace most personal content and theme the website exclusively around lolita fashion[2].

Blue Period's accompanying forum, hosted via SuddenLaunch, was launched August 17, 2003 as "a message board for goth and Gothic Lolita fashion" and would accrue over 9000 individual users and nearly 44,000 posts at its peak.[3][4]
