Lacebook was a private membership-based English-language community website/web ring for coord sharing, active between 2013 and 2015.
History
Created by Street Fashion Europe, Lacebook was a coord-sharing website intended initially as an alternative to Facebook for "a small number of Facebook friends [to share] outfits with each other, in the spirit of sites like Daily_Lolita or the old Lolita Snap", but which quickly gained traction within the broader English-speaking lolita community.
While initially for photo-sharing only, features were added for following friends' updates, tracking group events, and even a mobile site. Membership was on an approved-invite-only basis, with 100 invites available and being claimed per day at its peak. An official Lacebook tea party was planned for July 2014 in Rothenburg, Germany, though it is uncertain if this event ever took place. As of Oct 21, 2013, over 1600 images had been uploaded to/shared in the site.
In 2015 a revival effort was made with a new URL, but was unable to hold the same popularity of the initial launch.
