Vivayou (ビバユー), sometimes written as Viva You was a Japanese brand that was part of the DC Boom.[1]

History

Vivayou was established in 1977 by Sanei International Co., Ltd. (株式会社サンエー・インターナショナル).[1] In the 1980s, Hiromichi Nakano became the lead designer.[1][3] His work for Vivayou led to him being interviewed by Zipper magazine in 1994 in their article: What is "Lolita".[4]

In 1985, Vivayou sold a line of barbie dolls wearing the same clothing that Hiromichi Nakano had designed for humans that season.[5]

In the 2000s, the brand's target market was university students and office workers, with an age range of approximately 20-28.[1][2]

In the spring of 2012, Vivayou collaborated with Sogo/Seibu's private brand "LIMITED EDITION" and released items under the name "LIMITED EDITION VIVAYOU".[6]
