Two other prominent sources cite Shimizu Hiraku as the founder of AtePie. However, Buttcape contacted Ashizawa-san:
Q: Was there ever a designer named Shimizu Hiraku working at Atelier Pierrot?
A: I don't know a person named Shimizu, but he was probably a painter using the same name PIERROT. They had nothing to do with us (Ashizawa) --Raine-dragon (talk) 20:51, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
