Alice Kobayashi (小林愛梨穂) was born in Yamanashi prefecture. She is the representative and designer of the brand "Fairy Wish".[1]
Life and Career
She was given a sewing machine by her father when she was seven years old and sewed her first piece of clothing at age ten, which is when she decided she wanted to be a designer.[1] She attended a vocational school with this in mind.[1] One of the founding designers of Gothic Lolita, she worked for Moi-même-Moitié until 2003 at which point she became an independent designer.[1] After leaving Moi-même-Moitié she launched her own brand Fairy Wish, which was carried at Carina e Arlequin.[2]
In 2018, she collaborated with Moi-même-Moitié to release the Rose Garden OP.
Influence/Legacy
Casually self-described as the 'first Moi-même-Moitié designer' on twitter[3], it's difficult to quantify how much impact her work had on the development of the modern image of Gothic Lolita fashion.
