History

This section is incomplete, you can help it by adding information about: History 1989-2018

Heart-E started out making one-of-a-kind hats which were sold in a store managed by Hyper Hyper in Laforet in 1987. They later expanded into making accessories, lifestyle goods and clothing. Their first piece of clothing was their "Rabbit Coat" in 1988 which saw lasting popularity and was still considered popular in 2005.[1]

Heart-E advertised in Cutie magazine in the 90s.

Closure

In July of 2018, they posted a notice on their online shop:

As of July 2018, this site will be closed. The final order date will be July 25th, and July 30th will be the final transfer deadline, and orders that have passed that date will be cancelled.[2]

This was replaced with a farewell notice after July 25th:

As of July 25, orders are no longer accepted. Thank you for your patronage for 30 years.

Tips for Identifying Pieces

As always, we recommend searching Lolibrary first both by item number and by any relevant tags/features. If neither of these bring up the item, the following are some tips for researching the mystery item, though you are always welcome to ask for assistance in the Lolibrary Discord, or the EGL Research Center or What is that dress? Facebook groups as well.

Item numbers are 4, 5 or 6 digits and are believed to be semi-sequential, in that item number 62003 likely came before 62004. However they are not fully sequential. An item number starting with a 6 does not necessarily predate one starting with an 8. The first digit has some type of meaning that either is related to item type, or that results in items being grouped by type (this could indicate a subline grouping, or something to do with manufacturing or materials), however the exact meaning is currently known.

First Digit Item Type
1 Hats, Headbows
2 Socks
3 Scarf, Mittens, Earmuffs
4 JSK, OP, Bags, Coat, Skirt, Petticoat, Cutsew
5 Jewelry, Head Bows, Headdress
6 JSK, OP, Lucky packs, Blouse, Bolero, Cape, Coat, Skirt, Cutsew
7 Shoes
8 JSK, OP, Apron, Bags, Blouse, Bolero, Cape, Coat, Skirt, Petticoat, Cutsew
9 Bags, Jewelry, Hats
