Misako shows off her daily outfit in a Kera magazine snap
Soft Lolita (ソフトロリータ) is a term coined by Misako Aoki in her "Lolita Fashion Book" in 2014 to refer to wearing items from brands like Jane Marple, Emily Temple Cute and MILK in a casual way.[1] It is different from Casual Lolita which focuses more on wearing items from lolita brands like Baby and Angelic Pretty in a casual way.[2] Soft Lolita is similar to what English speaking lolita have been calling Otome fashion since at least 2008.[3][4][5][6]
Misako Aoki considers her daily clothes when she's not modeling to fall into the Soft Lolita category.[1] The brand Maria Pipi is considered a Soft Lolita brand.[7]
